What is Sucralose?

Sucralose is made from sugar in a multistep chemical process in which three hydrogen-oxygen groups are replaced with chlorine atoms.

Sucralose is calorie-free and is 600 times sweeter than sugar and doesn’t have a bitter aftertaste like many other popular sweeteners.

While sucralose technically comes from a sugar molecule, it’s not to be confused with sucrose, the chemical name for table sugar.  Regular sugar—whether that’s cane, honey, maple syrup, even high-fructose corn syrup, is absorbed and digested by the body.  But sucralose, does not provide calories or nutrients therefore It has no health benefits to it, as far as affecting your body in a positive way.
